At the Hacienda Alcantara, Tomas Alcantara (Joem Bascon) and his father - William Alcantara (Joel Torre) had a conversation. Tomas asked for a big amount of money so that he can continue the business he started in Makati. William doubted Tomas because he already gave Tomas some of their properties. Tomas insisted to have what he asked from his father because he don't want to be disregarded. Meanwhile, Nathaniel "Nathan" Montenegro (Paolo Avelino) is very excited to go back home in Philippines to be with his childhood friend - Katarina Alcantara (Julia Montes). Nathan decided to study in the Philippines but his mother - Jane Bonifacio/Montenegro (Rita Avila) will not allow him. Jane wants Nathan to study in the U.S. for him to have a good education because this will help Nathan a lot in the future. On the other hand, Katarina and her boyfriend - Daniel Valencia (Coco Martin) already revealed their relationship to Virginia Cruz (Susan Roces). Katarina and Daniel can not keep their secret relationship to Virginia because they can't bear hiding something from Virginia. Virginia gave her counsel to both Daniel and Katarina telling them not to take their relationship seriously. Virginia reminded Katarina to respect herself as a woman because William loves her so much as William's only daughter. Even though Virginia already knows about Daniel and Katarina's relationship, Daniel and Katarina are not yet ready to tell William about them.
