The families of the three victims in Lebanon were visited by OWWA. The families will be assisted by the agency for their needs in the communication for the return of the body of their loved ones. A problem was detected in two of the three victims. Two of the victims were undocumented workers in Lebanon. So, their family will not be receiving the money form the agency. Meanwhile, the other legal worker’s family will be receiving Php 250, 000. The Philippine government will be contacting the owner for the said damages that the victims will receive. Chief Justice Renato Corona has authorized the release of his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth (SALN) to the Senate impeachment court, Supreme Court Spokesman Jose Midas Marquez said Wednesday. Marquez said Corona gave his assurance to Supreme Court Clerk of Court Enriqueta Vidal that she will not be sanctioned for releasing his SALN to the impeachment court. Marquez said Corona had already said in previous interviews that he has only 5 real estate properties, which he declared in his SALN. The prosecution is presenting its second witness on the third day of the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona. Marianito Dimaandal of the Malacañang Records Office will testify on the veracity of Corona’s Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth (SALN) when he was still working in the Palace. Corona is a former acting executive secretary, presidential spokesman and presidential chief of staff in the administration of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Corona also previously worked under former President Fidel Ramos. The prosecution will also present as witness an employee of the Office of the Vice President.
