A building in Davao City was on fire this early morning. The fire was immediately acted upon by the firefighters of the said place. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Different countries all over the world celebrate New Year in a peaceful manner. They just had a fireworks display or presentation. Firecrackers in other countries had long been banned. Only here in the Philippines that it is not implemented. Filipinos online have different views about a possible government plan to ban firecracker use for individuals. Many agree with the plan, but some also said the move is either "too much” or “too late." The DOH said that the number of victims related to firecrackers lowered this year. But still it did not reach their desired or target number. They are hoping that by next season, it would lessen or will have a zero incidence rate. Chief Justice Renato Corona believes in the Senate as an impeachment court. Marquez issued the statement in a press conference in response to observations not all senators are lawyers and may not vote on the merits of the case. The Impeachment prosecution panel has asked Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Renato Corona to go on leave pending his impeachment trial before the Senate. Quimbo also took exception to Corona’s failure to sign and verify the answer filed by his legal defense team, saying the lack of verification may weaken the reply as it makes him unaccountable for any falsehoods in the response. Thieves broke into the house of singer Imelda Papin in Quezon City early Monday morning, stealing at least P500,000 worth of cash and valuables. Papin's family members woke up with their house in North Fairview Park in a mess.
