Dong Yi (Han Hyo Joo) was chosen as one of the ladies to be sent to the palace of King Sukjong (Ji Jin Hee). Some of the ladies could not accept the result especially that Dong Yi is just new to the Bureau. One of the ladies then went to their matron and shared her hurts. She could not accept that Dong YI was chosen over her. The lady then explained that she could not do anything about that since it was chosen base on beauty. The lady who was complaining could not react anymore. Meanwhile, the brother of Lady Jang is very eager already to let his sister become the concubine of the king. He went to their prime minister and told him that he is willing to have his hands dirty just for the sake of his sister. He would not mind what would happen unto him. Meanwhile, Dong Yi was left inside of the room. She was very curios that all the books left there were for children. She was already thinking that the person living in it may be a child or a child at heart. After the announcement of the ladies who had been chosen, King Sukjong was very pleased to know that Dong Yi was chosen as one of them. He was already thinking of the idea of what would be the reaction of Dong YI if she will find out that he is the King.
