A womanand her child was killed in Taguig and it was found out that her live-n partner was the one responsible for the crime. Meanwhile a man in Davao City died while he was fishing. He died because he was affected by the electric rod he used. A bomb exploded in Taguig being brought to a vulcanizing shop. Most of the victims were minors and the authorities are still investigating to what group is responsible for the bombing. A group of drivers in Cebu City asked for a Php 9 rollback becaue of the continuous increase in the oil price; while some drivers in Davao will be having a strike against the oil price hike. The Senate, sitting as impeachment court, granted the motion of the defense to prohibit the presentation of evidence on Chief Justice Renato Corona's alleged ill-gotten wealth. Under Article II of the Articles of Impeachment, Corona is accused of culpable violation of the Constitution and/or betrayal of the public trust when he failed to disclose to the public his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN). The said article does not charge Corona with ill-gotten wealth. But the impeachment court allowed BIR Commissioner Kim Henares to testify with limitations. Some 1,700 houses for families displaced last December by tropical storm Sendong in Iligan City are expected to be built by June 2012. President Benigno Aquino III went to the relocation site in Sta. Elena village on Wednesday morning to personally check on the housing project, which he said has a working budget of P300 million. He later went to Cagayan de Oro, another northern Mindanao city heavily affected by the storm, to inspect a relocation site in Sitio Centro in Barangya Lumbia that was donated by Xavier University. Some 2,000 houses are expected to be built there.
