Mass burial in Iligan was already done. Even if majority of the public do not support it. Most of the people have chosen to perform it because some bodies are already starting to decompose. Meanwhile, some of the bodies were left to undergo DNA testing. Some missing persons are believed to be inside some houses that are covered by mud. Most of the survivors are still in shock and are in trauma. One of the families that was a victim shares their tragic story. Their 5- year old child was separated from them when her husband was hit by a big trunk. Until now, there is no sign that their child had survived. The local government unit will be performing stress debriefing programs to evaluate and minimize the trauma they are having. Crew of the Sagip Kapamilya team prepared for games for the children. This is one of the stress debriefing for the pediatrics. Some places in Mindanao that was affected are still not having electricity. The local government said that they are already preparing the area and assessing if it would be already safe to have the electricity back. Meanwhile, President Noynoy have already said in his speech that it would be declared under a National State of Calamity. Calamity funds are already allocated. The Social Security Systems (SSS) of the Philippines will be releasing Calamitx Loans to its members. The greatly affected area in Cagayan de Oro is just near the Cagayan River. It was found out that months before the incident, experts from University of the Philippines (UP) have warned the local government unit to evacuate the residents living near the river. They have seen the dramatic change of the river especially with its capacity to hold water. They have foreseen that it is possible that a great flood would be experienced.
